With another Christmas quickly approaching, Future Business Leaders of America members gathered for their annual Christmas party. The gathering meant a lot for everyone because it was an opportunity to give presents and enjoy a good time together taking a break from fundraising and other club activities.
At 6:30, the party started in the KHS cafeteria. When Paige Bornholdt, junior, came into the cafeteria, everyone started singing "Happy Birthday" in celebration of her 17th birthday.
After singing songs, the festivity increased when Tate Henry and David Williams, seniors, enjoyed popping balloons that were brought in honor of Paige’s birthday. After the pizza disappeared in 10 minutes, it was time to open Christmas gifts which each member brought. The gifts weren’t expensive since the limit was $10. There were mirrors, flashlights, candles, and many other random items. After that, FBLA members solved quizzes about Christmas songs, which involved matching Christmas song titles with simple pictures. Paige Bornholdt won by knowing 16 songs.
It can easily be thought that Christmas is Santa Claus and Rudolph’s day. So Ms. Teel prepared a game to be a human-Rudolph. Members were to create antlers out of a pair of pantyhose and 2 balloons, attach them to their heads and sing "Jingle Bells" in order to win. Anthony Williams, freshman, got the honorable prize.
At the end of the party, everyone looked satisfied. Carrie Phelps, senior, mentioned, "We had a pretty good turn-out!" and also Ms. Teel said with satisfaction, "The FBLA Christmas party was lots of fun, we had a good turn out of FBLA students. I think everyone enjoyed the games and the food. We will definitely plan to continue with the Christmas party in future years."
