Last week, NHS challenged Kingman High students and faculty to a battle of the sexes regarding a food drive for the holiday season. The drive collected a variety of items including laundry detergent, soup, paper towels, macaroni and cheese, and canned fruits and vegetables.
As an extra incentive to go along with the competition, students received lunch passes and homework exemptions. These rewards were determined by how many points a student collected, based on a point-system (see table).
Throughout most of the week, Kingman High’s females lead the competition. However, with the help of senior Dallas Lawrence’s motivational words during the morning announcements, the males came back. The final tally at 3PM on Friday – Females: 3665 points, Males: 5267 points.
