Swinging Towards State
Members of Ladies golf team qualify for state

by Clint Dick

With three girls qualifying for state, the girls golf team finished one of its most successful seasons in years. Lauren Vanlandingham, senior, Sarah Vanlandingham, sophomore, and Emily Meisenheimer, senior, all put up outstanding numbers en route to state qualification, while the team fell just three strokes short of a state playoff.

"Seniors have come a long way in the past four years," said Head Coach Kyle Meireis when asked about the success of this team. "They started out as scared little freshmen and have turned into team leaders. Sophomore Sarah Vanlandingham has played extremely consistent as well."

State competition was held at Cheney on Oct. 20. Lauren shot a 119, Meisenheimer shot a 107 and Sarah shot a 113.
